Wilderness

The warm winds have arrived, bringing exhaustion with each day. The smell of dirt becomes familiar while I wait patiently for rain. New things tend to dry as the sound of Spring goes on to fade. A wilderness ahead, with thistles, sweat, and hay. The only question I can bear, "Will there be water for the way?"
